Christine Zinter to presented at WP&BC Portland Chapter's online webinar: "New Health Care Transparency Rules, What Employers Need to Know to Comply"

Summary: Between the Transparency in Coverage Rule and new group health plan regulations and reporting requirements promulgated as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 – most notably the No Surprises Act – employer plan sponsors and health plan issuers face additional federal reporting requirements in 2022. While health insurers will bear the brunt of the reporting requirements, even employers with fully insured health plans have a part to play. All the pricing information in the world will not help to lower costs if employees do not make use of these new consumer tools. The savvy employer will take an active role in teaching its workforce to shop for cost-effective care and be able to demonstrate how wise care decisions have a direct impact on families’ health care expenditures.
