Bullard Law Team Volunteers for Albertina Kerr on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

January 25, 2016

Portland, OR – Bullard Law attorneys and staff volunteered their efforts on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to support Albertina Kerr in enhancing the outdoor surroundings of the new SubAcute building.

The SubAcute building serves children 6 to 18 years of age in the Crisis Psychiatric Care program with short term residential placement and 24-hour access to health professionals. The goal of the building and program is to stabilize children in crisis through mental health treatment in order to ultimately return them to their home or to a less intensive level of care. Through these efforts, assurance of adequate supervision and monitoring as well as an appropriate, safe environment to meet the child’s ongoing needs is provided.

The Bullard Law team helped to create a warmer, calmer and more inviting environment for children within the building by installing bird baths and feeders viewed from the windows of therapy offices and treatment rooms. Blueberry bushes, fruit trees and vegetables were also planted in order to provide healthier snack options for the children.

Albertina Kerr is a non-profit organization that since 1907 has provided an array of residential community and treatment services for youth, families and individuals with developmental disabilities. Albertina Kerr is committed to fostering equity, diversity and inclusion among those receiving their services and their loved ones in order to empower them to live richer lives.
