Ed is a skilled trial lawyer with a proven record of leading his clients through a variety of different employment disputes and litigation. He regularly represents clients in state and federal courts, as well as in private arbitration. Ed has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation, from making opening statements to the jury or cross-examining witnesses in the courtroom to arguing key pretrial and dispositive motions, managing discovery, and counseling clients through settlement negotiations and mediation.
Since beginning his legal career at a national law firm in the Pacific Northwest, Ed has developed a successful employment practice representing Fortune 500 companies, local startups and businesses, and nonprofits before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI), and state and federal courts. He has a broad range of experience in a variety of employment law issues, including discrimination and harassment charges, wage-and-hour disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets, non-competition agreements, and wrongful termination suits. Additionally, Ed has significant investigatory experience, including an appointment as a special investigator by the State of Oregon in response to wide-ranging allegations of harassment and a “bro culture” at a state agency, and representing a multinational corporation in an investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) into “no poaching” employee antitrust violations.
And finally, Ed has substantial knowledge and experience managing complex discovery, which is often the most expensive portion of any litigation. Ed’s deep experience managing e-discovery helps drive down fees and costs, allowing clients to invest those resources elsewhere.
